Hampton Falls Homes for Sale

Hampton Falls is a quaint community in the heart of the bustling New Hampshire Seacoast. It is generally a rural residential community many of whose residents commute to Boston, which is 45 miles, and Portsmouth, which is 15 miles away.  The town is located near I-95, one of the nation’s main north-south corridors.

Horse farming is prevalent in the area and this accounts for part of the requests for building permits – to build horse barns.  Within the town itself, Hampton Falls provides a small but vibrant business community with several stores, a shopper’s village, antique shops, and restaurants.  Also impacting the tax base is one of the larger employers in Hampton Falls, the Applecrest Orchard.  The Orchard is one of the oldest operational apple orchards in the country.

Hampton Falls preserves its historical significance by restoring and renovating old buildings rather than razing them.  Among some of these structures is Old Hampton Falls Free Library which was build in 1835, Dodge Mill which was built in 1765, an old one-room school house on Drinkwater Road, as well as several colonial homes.

In its effort to maintain its rural character and environment, Hampton Falls has setting aside hundreds of acres of its marshland as a conservation preserve.  This nature center is complete with a handicap-accessible trail which is marked with descriptions of the birds and plant life that can be observed along the path.

Visitors to Hampton Falls are greeted by the picturesque white steeple of the First Baptist Church built in 1836.  Down the road from the church are the newly renovated Lincoln Akerman Elementary School and Governor Weare Park, which feature soccer fields and a picnic area or place for a leisurely stroll.  About a half-mile down Route 88 from the church are the Town Hall offices, the library, the police station, and the volunteer fire station.

Lincoln Akerman School provides education for 248 students in grades K-8.  High school students attend classes at Winnacunnet High School, in nearby Hampton, where they benefit from having access to the expanded resources of a regional school.

Hampton Falls Homes for sale provide many options for you to put down roots in a charming community which has pride in its rich history and is as equally forward-looking.
